Wakefield Cathedral

How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.

- Psalm 84:1-3

How we can help

Study & social events

Wakefield Cathedral are organising social events and study groups to help support and get to know people from different cultural backgrounds.

These events and groups are open to all and may vary from lunches and talks through to lessons on a range of different subjects.

Further support

We are proud to support the work of Wakefield City of Sanctuary – a grassroots movement to build a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary in the UK by promoting and encouraging the inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers across the district. Click here to find out more about the work they do.

Wakefield Cathedral also has contacts with various other organisations working with refugees and asylum seekers across the area, to find out more email missioner@wakefield-cathedral.org.uk.
