The Mothers' Union

Wakefield Cathedral Branch of Mothers’ Union

Mother’s Union is a worldwide Christian charity with over 4 million members in 83 countries and we bring support for family life to the heart of communities through praying, campaigning and enabling.

We are a fantastic organisation, reaching out to families in need is at the heart of our ministry in the diocese and across the world.

The vision statement for the Mother’s Union in this diocese states ‘Through the love of God and in partnership with the church Mothers’ Union in the Diocese of Leeds seeks to reach out creatively and actively to support stable family relationships and promote a more just society.

We have an active branch at Wakefield Cathedral, which meets on the second Monday each month in the Education Room. We gather at 13.30 for refreshments and chat before starting the meetings at 14.00. We operate an open invitation to all who would wish to come along and join in any of the regular activities. (currently waiting to re-open due to pandemic)

Wakefield Episcopal Area hosts Mothers’ Union Midday Prayers monthly in the Lady Chapel. This service takes place on the first Friday of each month. The service last approx. 15 minutes and all are welcome to take part.
