Schools

A visit to Wakefield Cathedral or the Chantry Chapel is so much more than simply visiting a local land-mark!

Students will:

  • Encounter first hand these beautiful, historic buildings
  • Learn within sources of primary evidence
  • Take part in cross-curricular, creative workshops tailored to their age and needs
  • Experience awe and wonder from a spiritual, visual or emotional perspective

Workshops are led by qualified teachers Tracey Yates and Gillian Bunn, who have nearly 40 years classroom experience between them. You may also see artists, volunteers and work experience students working as part of the team.

Our school activities are designed to meet National Curriculum programmes of study, take into account local agreed and reflect Ofsted guidance for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

There are always plenty of opportunities for pupils to ask questions, make connections, explore ideas and reflect on their learning.

For more information or booking please contact administrative assistant, Bev Howes, at the Cathedral Office on 01924 373923 or via email at learning.admin@wakefield-cathedral.org.uk.
