Easter Changes Everything

15 April 2019

Easter Message from our Canon Precentor, the Revd Leah Vasey Saunders,

She says:

Easter changes everything!

The events of Holy Week and Easter encompass all of human life and experience: communities divided, the sharing of a meal, betrayal, pain, loss and death. Through this week we are able to know that our experiences are shared in a greater narrative, the story of God. In these holy days we are able to walk in the company of Jesus, whoever we are and however life is treating us and more than that, as we walk, we can be comforted, challenged and when we reach Easter Sunday, know the joy and power greater than ourselves as we recall the day that Jesus was risen from the dead.

Easter changes everything.

Leah is responsible for organising the services here at the Cathedral – and this week she is preparing to recreate all the drama of the greatest story of them all: the story of Jesus’s last few days on earth.

The last supper, foot washing, the betrayal, the darkness, the waiting at the cross, the resurrection - all the drama of recreating the Easter Story.

Join us this week. Find your journey to the cross.
