Worship in August at Wakefield Cathedral

31 July 2020

As we enter into the next phase of our emergence from lockdown, we are making adjustments to our worship pattern. We are also bearing in mind the need for staff to take time to rest and also to do some of the preparatory work required to ready us for the next phase in the Autumn.

So for August the following pattern will form our worshipping life:

Monday-Saturday

08.00 Morning Prayer and Eucharist

14.30 Afternoon Prayers

Wednesday

10.30 BCP Holy Communion (said)

Saturday

20.00 Compline on Facebook.

Sunday

08.00- Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion (said).

09.15 – Common Worship Eucharist with organ and Cantor

11.00 – Worship Online (A pre-recorded short Service of the Word with some music via Facebook and YouTube)

14.30 – Afternoon Prayers

In line with Church of England and government guidelines we encourage everyone attending public worship to wear a face-covering so that everyone is able to feel as protected as possible from any transmission of infection.

If you are unable to worship in person at the cathedral we encourage you to continue using the resources linked below, and to explore other prayer and worship resources online . From autumn onwards we hope to be able to live stream a Eucharist every Sunday, as well as other special service and events that take place in the cathedral. More details will follow about this in due course.

Thank you.
