A new face at Wakefield Cathedral this month
10 June 2021
We are delighted to welcome Sam Crook to Wakefield Cathedral for the next month, arriving from Mirfield College of Resurrection as part of her ordination training.
After previously working at a Christian Adventure Camp in South Africa, Sam moved back to the UK at the turn of the century and headed north (away from her hometown of Romford), now residing in Golcar with her family - husband Simon, three children Jude, George and Micah and family dog, Doris the Border Collie.
Sam’s background has seen her work in a number of school environments and more recently she qualified as a Councilor, particularly supporting people with their mental health.
Outside of work and study, Sam is a keen dancer – particularly enjoying tap and contemporary, enjoys walking with the family and even a spot of wild swimming!
Sam: “I am delighted to be at Wakefield Cathedral for the next month and really keen to learn more about this wonderful church and meet the great people who work, volunteer, worship and live around the city.
“If you see me in the cathedral or around town, please do say hello, I’m looking forward to seeing what the next four weeks have in store.”
Sam will be with the cathedral until 04 July, at which time she will have completed the first year of her two-year full-time ordinand training.
