Walking and warm welcomes have been part of my arrival at Wakefield. As I prepare to be collated as Canon Precentor on Sunday, I am deeply grateful for the welcomes from new colleagues and look forward to being amongst the communities of the Cathedral and of Wakefield.
When I walk, there is the chance to ponder, to be challenged, and to enjoy new spaces. These spaces are likely to be missed when I am guided by a map in a car or on a phone.Read More
Mothers' Union Commissioning Service

Wakefield Cathedral are delighted to be hosting this year's Mothers' Union Commissioning Service led by the Rt Revd Nick Baines, Bishop of Leeds.
Held every three years, the 2022 service will take place on Saturday 22 January from 14:00, welcoming trustees and officers of the Mothers' Union who are being commissioned to serve for the next three years, alongside the commissioning of the new Mothers' Union President for the Diocese of Leeds – Elaine Swinhoe.Read More
