You may notice ribbons that are coloured green, red and gold being worn with pride by some of our choristers. The choristers were presented with RSCM Voice for Life Singing Awards at Choral Evensong last Sunday. Choristers from St Margaret’s Church North Elmsall were also presented with awards in the same service by Dean Simon and Bishop Tom Butler – Hon Assistant Bishop in the diocese.
The singers’ achievements and progress is assessed through formal examinations at three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The awards demonstrate achievement in use of the voice, musical skill and understanding, choral repertoire, the commitment to a choir and an understanding of its purpose.
Bronze RSCM Dean’s Chorister Award
Adelaide Kaushiva, Freddie Scott, Abigail Stewart
Silver RSCM Bishop’s Chorister Award
Dexter Bevan, Alys-Mairead Kaushiva, George Scott, Joseph Shepherd, William Swap
Gold RSCM Award
Annamarie Kaushiva
The presentation concluded with all the choir recommitting themselves to the ministry of music in worship.
Many congratulations to all of the fantastic Choristers who took part.
