Why do you look for the living among the dead?
He is not here, but has risen.

Our Holy Week Preacher - Revd Dr Stephen Hampton

We warmly welcome The Revd Dr Stephen Hampton as our Maundy Thursday and Good Friday preacher for 2024.

As Dean of Peterhouse, Cambridge, Stephen is responsible for the life of the college chapel and, as Senior Tutor, oversees teaching, discipline, and welfare in the college. He has degrees in law and in theology from both Oxford and Cambridge and teaches church history and Christian Theology. Stephen is much in demand as a Holy Week preacher and we look forward to him opening up fresh insights into these familiar biblical passages. The addresses will follow the Passion story from John’s Gospel, starting with the arrest of Jesus and ending with his burial. They will explore the theological and spiritual themes of the Passion, through a close engagement with the biblical text, and a particular attention to the narrative voice of St John.
