Eco Comment – Cathedral Cycle Route Completed!

16 June 2023

Our journeys in life can take many forms and be for many reasons. Last week I joined another member of our Cathedral’s congregation, along with several other people from across the Diocese, to ride along the Bradford – Wakefield section of the Cathedral Cycle Route.

Cycling is one of the most environmentally friendly ways of travelling, with added benefits in terms of healthy exercise and having time to appreciate all that nature has to offer as you ride along. When travelling in a group, it provides a wonderful opportunity to chat with other cyclists, sharing your experiences of life in general and being able to build new friendships by working together to overcome the challenges which arise along the way.

The Route links all forty two of the Anglican cathedrals in England and is nearly two thousand miles in length. The section we cycled last week was only a small part of the overall journey in terms of distance, but brought a real sense of achievement to those who completed it.
