Our Groups

Wakefield Cathedral is proud to be associated with some wonderful groups and organisations which work together to both support the cathedral and support charities across the diocese and farther afield.

Mothers' Union

Mothers’ Union is a worldwide Christian charity with over 4 million members in 83 countries, bringing support for family life to the heart of communities through praying, campaigning and enabling.

The Wakefield Cathedral Mothers’ Union branch reaches out to families in need, both locally, across the diocese and all over the world.

Flower Arrangers

Throughout the year we are fortunate to be supported by the wonderful Flower Arrangers of Wakefield Cathedral.

For many, arranging church flowers can be both a satisfying and relaxing activity, bringing colour, impact and decoration to the cathedral throughout the seasons.

The only occasion when flower arrangements are not displayed in the cathedral is during Lent when the cathedral remains bare of decorations.

Many visitors often comment on the vibrancy and colour which the addition of flowers brings to the everyday life of the cathedral, with particular popular occasions including Spring, Harvest and Christmas.
