All of our half term events are free to attend for all ages. We have something for everyone, so don’t miss out!

Chantry Chapel Open Days

Saturday 25, Sunday 26 & Monday 27 May 10:00-16:00

Chantry Chapel will be open to visitors for 3 days over the Bank Holiday weekend for visitors to discover the beautiful heritage within.

Lunchtime Concert & Pre-Concert Lunch

Tuesday 28 May 

All are welcome to the next instalment in our weekly free lunchtime concert series. This week’s featured musician is soprano Lucy Relins. The pre-concert Tuesday Snap Café will also be open for hot soups, delicious sandwiches and other tasty treats.

Lunch served at 12:00 in the Treacy Hall, concert begins at 13:00.

All food items can be ordered on the day except for sandwiches, which are by pre-order only.

George Webster Talk

George Webster is a 23 year old BAFTA award winning TV presenter, actor, author and dancer from Leeds. George will be reading from his books This is Me? and Why Not? and talking about his life, his career and how we are all unique, all talented and all special.

Artwalk

Wakefield Cathedral once again joins venues across the city for an evening of free art exhibits. Visit us to see exhibitions from CoActive Arts and Jan Parsons.

Half Term Family Fun

Thursday 30 May 10:00-15:00

Come join us for some free activities and crafts for all ages,! This drop-in session is open to all, no booking necessary.

Spring Fair

Friday 31 May 10:00-15:00

Join us for the best event of the week: the Wakefield Cathedral Spring Fair! Meet a bird of prey, shop from local artisans, get crafty with our hands-on workshops and explore the cathedral with our Spring-themed activities! This event is free entry to all, we can’t wait to welcome you for a full day of Spring fun!

The café will be open 10:00-15:00 providing hot drinks and a place to sit and eat the tasty offerings from the fair.

Open All Week

Wakefield Cathedral is free entry for all ages during half term 08:00-16:00. Play dress up in our costume area, piece together our stained glass window puzzles, sit and read or do some colouring. You can also explore the beauty within the cathedral walls.
