Becca Parkin

Hi, I’m Becca, a first year ordinand at the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield, and I have the privilege of spending my 4 week placement with you here at Wakefield Cathedral. I am training whilst studying on the degree pathway, and I am here from the Diocese of Durham with my husband and our two young children. We are enjoying our life here in Yorkshire; it is an idyllic setting both for our family and my priestly formation.

An experience led me to becoming a Christian at 24, but prior to that I was a particularly skeptical atheist. My life has been transformed by the grace of God and I am grateful for the opportunity to be formed into the minister God is calling me to be; to grow more deeply in my vocation and continue to share the love of Jesus Christ with others. I am excited that Wakefield Cathedral is now part of this formation, and I am looking forward to learning more about the culture here and contributing to the life of the Cathedral.
