Strengthening friendships with Skara Diocese in Sweden

At the end of September, our very own Canon Erik travelled to Sweden for a six-day visit to the Diocese of Skara, helping to strengthen the long-standing friendship between our two dioceses and cathedrals.

During his visit, Erik spent time at Skara Cathedral and five local parishes, meeting clergy, staff and volunteers, sharing experiences and exploring ways we can learn from one another.

Erik received a wonderfully warm welcome and was encouraged by the enthusiasm of everyone he met to build closer links with Wakefield Cathedral and the Diocese of Leeds.

Although we’re miles apart, we share many of the same joys and challenges, and there’s so much we can gain from sharing ideas, experiences and our faith.

We’re looking forward to seeing these friendships grow and would love more people to get involved.
