Wakefield Cathedral new website now live!

With thanks to the support of the Cultural Recovery Fund, we have today launched our new and improved website, providing a greater user experience for all visitors with some exciting new features too.

The new website (which maintains the previous web address of: www.wakefieldcathedral.org.uk) reflects the refreshed branding of the cathedral and further strengthens its online communications offering – providing an easy-to-navigate site with a user-friendly interface.

The Very Revd Simon Cowling, Dean of Wakefield said: “The past two years have certainly highlighted the need for quality online communications with easy to access information and I am therefore delighted that the new Wakefield Cathedral website is now live.

“I am in no doubt that the site will prove a valuable asset to the cathedral’s continued mission and help us to reach out to more individuals, families, schools and businesses across the district, the diocese and beyond.”

Some of the key features found on the new website include automatically-generated calendars of upcoming services and events, opportunity to light a candle on the virtual candle wall and online donation opportunities alongside refreshed content across the site.

The website has also been set up with integrated translation options for over 25 languages including Arabic, Polish, Urdu and Ukrainian, providing easy to access information for people from all backgrounds and nationalities all over the world.

“The new site is a significant upgrade to our online communications offerings, and we hope that visitors to the site enjoy the new content, the new user-interface and the improved quality of images, writing and functionality across the site.”

The new cathedral website has been created by Wakefield-based web and design agency Our Agency.
