The Care4Us Community Choir invites you to a special performance at Meet Up Café on 28 March.
Care4Us Community Choir is a remarkable group of Wakefield Council Foster Carers who have come together to share their passion for music and their commitment to caring for vulnerable children. They will perform at Meet Up Café, hosted in Treacy Hall at Wakefield Cathedral, which opens at 10:00.
The emotional nature of fostering can be challenging, but through music, the choir members have found a powerful source of support and friendship. What began as an opportunity to meet other carers and expand their network has evolved into something truly special.
“Singing is such an uplifting experience. Meeting together has undoubtedly improved our well-being and allowed us to form close bonds and support each other. It has really paid off … Especially given the emotional nature of our role.”
Collectively, the Care4Us Community Choir brings over 170 years of fostering experience, having cared for more than 316 children and adopting three. Their dedication to making a difference in young lives is at the heart of everything they do.
Beyond the joy of music, the choir has a mission: to raise awareness about fostering in Wakefield. The city urgently needs more foster carers, and the choir members are eager to use their voices to inspire others to consider fostering. Through their performances, they hope to spark conversations and encourage people to learn more about the incredible impact foster care can have.
If you’ve ever thought about fostering or would like to know more, members of the Care4Us Community Choir are happy to chat. Feel free to approach them on the day, or visit the Wakefield Council fostering website for more information: Wakefield Fostering.
