Archbishop of York to Visit Wakefield Cathedral

24 April 2026

An Invite To A Conversation With The Archbishop Of York at Wakefield Cathedral

The cathedral is looking forward to welcoming the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, on Tuesday 28th April as part of his Faith in the North, Lord’s Prayer Tour.

In this special visit, Archbishop Stephen will lead an evening of teaching, prayer, and conversation, exploring the Lord’s Prayer – the prayer Jesus taught his disciples, which continues to shape Christian life and faith today. As the Archbishop reflects, it is “a prayer that doesn’t just teach us how to pray, but teaches us how to live.”

The evening offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and explore these familiar words more deeply in a relaxed and welcoming space.

The event begins at 6:00pm with tea and coffee, followed by worship at 6:30pm, and will conclude at approximately 8:15pm.

All are warmly invited to attend. No booking is required.
